I just bought my first pistol, a Ruger 22/45 MKIII 5-1/2" Bull Barrel (P512MKIII) and field stripped it for the first time. According to the instructions it is necessary to
BE CERTAIN that the firing pin stop (part number A03500, a small pin) is in the bolt.

Can one of you confirm that what I'm looking at is actually the firing pin stop? Based on their diagram I expected it to be solid and what's there is hollow.

This is what it looks like from the bottom.

I'm new to guns in general so I could also use some pointers on how to properly clean and lubricate a new gun before the first trip to the range. Is there a sticky somewhere that I'm missing that shows recommended products and techniques?

Yes that's it. Funny. My 22/45 MKIII had an actual pin, instead of a roll pin.

Your pistol, along with most semi auto rimfires, will work best with minimal lube. I love "gunslick" graphite lube. Available at Canadian Tire. And buy a 22 cal bore snake, they are awesome. <Make sure to pull out straight as to not wear the muzzle/crown area>
