Ruger Mark III - bull barrel?

For a target rifle the bull barrel will dissipate heat more evenly and a heavier gun is generally easier to shoot more accurately off a rest.

On a handgun it mostly comes down to balance and feel - persona preference in other words. More weight out front also reduces the muzzle jump for quick follow up shots.

In all the shopping around I've done the barrels described as bull barrels seem to come on guns that are intended more for target shooting in matches so I've sort of guessed that they are going to be more accurate both from the standpoint of (perhaps) a more accurate bore and rifling and from the added weight that both reduces kick and any suggestion of barrel whip. Not that I'd imagine it would be a problem on a handgun.
