Will I lose much accuracy if I buy a 22/45 Lite instead of a Mark IV Target? I have only shot the lite but I liked it. Or if someone can direct me too a thread where this has been previously discussed. Thanks!
A good Lite with ammo it likes will outshoot a bad Target or one that is poorly matched to its ammo. Getting a lemon of either is exceedingly rare. The biggest consideration is purpose. I’d suggest that the Lite is superior for most applications you could want a .22 pistol for. The exception is if you’re aiming to compete in true target shooting disciplines, but then a MkIV of any variety wouldn’t be high on my list of recommends.
If you’ve shot the Lite and enjoyed it then I don’t think you’ll go wrong in buying it.
I have the Hunter and the Lite. Since I like shiny things the Hunter is better for me to look at. However, it is heavy for a 22. The lite is really nothing to look at but since it is light as a feather it is a dream to shoot. If I had to pick only 1 I'd go with the lite in one of the coloured barrels. Both shoot straight as a arrow and hit the target every time.
I had a hunter, then a lite, now have tactical.
All of them are of no difference in terms of accuracy.
It’s 22lr pistol, what kind of accuracy do you expect or do you not expect? Nothing exciting
"Mechanical accuracy" differences may or may not be significant for you. But if you're using iron sights, the longer sighting radius of the Target models will be a significant difference in terms of practical accuracy for most people. The longer barrel will yield higher muzzle velocity as well, which might matter to you for longer distances. If you're casually plinking, especially at shorter ranges, I wouldn't spend much time thinking about the accuracy differences.
HOWEVER:
Assuming that you mean the actual "Mark IV Target" models (which have aluminum or stainless frames and longer all-steel bull barrels), the feel in the hand will be dramatically different from the 22/45 Lite (plastic frame, shorter aluminum sleeved barrel): Grip angle is different, grip shape is different, weight is MUCH greater, and the barrel is longer and heavier so it's more muzzle heavy.
