Have only a red dot on mine (2MOA). Mine seems to like CCI Standard Velocity and CCI Mini Mags - gets dirty around the 200 - 250 round count, then FTE for me until you give a quick clean (at the range). Comes with a 90 degree nylon brush to scrub the chamber. Nice gun though, more accurate than I am!

I love mine. Yes the CCI is dirty but have not had a FTE issue yet.
Added Williams Firesight and Tandemkross Victory Trigger kit.

I really like my MarkIV Target pistol. The easy take down makes it a breeze to keep it clean - so it runs flawlessly.

I put the Volquartsen trigger kit in mine and like that a lot. The internet made the swap a 15 minute job and it worked well from the first shot. I use my pistol for Club level steel plate shooting matches.

I had a Venom red dot but swapped a set of Williams fiber sights and shoot that better than the red dot (and don't worry about the batteries). Williams has started shipping direct to Canada (or did prior to our Liberal stonewall at the border).

Like most Ruger guns it is not fussy what it devours at the range. I save my expensive rimfire ammo for my single shot rifle and use mostly Blaser in the pistol.

Good luck with your pisol.

I bought 2 from my LGS last week, just waiting on my transfer now. I will watch this thread for suggestions. Thanks

100% recommend the Volquartsen accurizing/trigger kit. I got it from Tandemkross with other stuff and had the option of getting their flat trigger, but I like the aesthetic of the standard trigger. While I was at it I swapped out the firing pin and extractor, though it wasn't necessary.

I have no need or want for a Ruger MkIII or MkIV.
The mag safety BS needs to be removed & an appropriate hammer bushing installed.
The safety needs to be shimmed.
The frame mounted 1911 style magazine release will produce feeding issues.

My MkI's & MkII's w/ Euro style heel magazine latch enhances feeding since the mags do NOT rattle in the well/frame.

Round Nose standard velocity ammo will function best, compared to truncated cone ammo.

Where’s the best place to get aftermarket parts for the Ruger Mk IV series? Is it worth adding the Volquartsen accurising kit to a Hunter model or do all models benefit? Also how do I get my hands on the Ruger OEM wraparound wood grips with finger grooves in Canada? The Ruger US site has a checkbox for US citizen for these so can’t send to Canada.

I got mine from Sylvestre in AB.

I added a Tandemkross charging halo, Tandemkross flat trigger and a Volquartsen accurizing kit. I have have been using Blazer 40 grain and CCI standard velocity without any FTE or FTF. The accessories are available through the site sponsor's.

Anyone installing the Volquartsen accurizing you will NOT need to install the bushing spacer supplied these are strictly for the Ruger Mark 4 22/45 models. This has caused some confusion on different threads.

Received the Ruger MarkIV Target yesterday but did not have a whole lot of time to go over it , but hopefully will tonight .
Of course a couple of questions for you fellas .
#1 Is the trigger metal it seemed like plastic ?
#2 When pulling the bolt back to the utmost rear position should it lock in place ?
#3 I have heard that you should not depress the slide lock button to release the bolt , rather release the bolt by pulling back on the bolt and let it go ?
Thank You !
