Ruger Mark IV... upper or lower registered part?

Which is the 'registered' part of the new Ruger MK IV .22's... Upper/Barrel or Lower Frame?

The barrel seems to be the only part with the S/N on it.

Your receiver is the firearm.
Your barrel is screwed into your receiver; your receiver contains your bolt; your grip frame attaches to your receiver; your receiver has the serial number.
The 'upper', as you described it, is a 'barreled receiver'.
Your receiver is the firearm; the rest is just parts.

The “upper” or barrel is the firearm as it is the part with the serial number. Period. No exceptions. The “lower” is nothing more than associated parts.

Had to re-read your original post. You are correct. I should have said “upper barrel assembly “.
