Ruger mini 14 & 30?

I just picked up my 'new' 14 and 30, and now I wanna put the original stocks back on them. Each stock has a different buttplate,.... ones got a cheap looking plastic one that bends over the top like an old Win. Saddle Ring Carbine; the other is a ribbed buttplate w/Ruger emblem.
Which one goes on the 14 & which goes on the 30?

Also, what's the trick to taking off the inner tin shield that runs along the inside of the forearm?

Any comment about the accuracy of the Mini 30?,... I've read alot of potential Bullsh1t about them on different forums.

Appreciate any help.

"...accuracy of the Mini 30..." About the same as a Mini-14. Poor for the money. Use commercial ammo or reload. The Mini 30 uses a .308" diameter barrel. Milsurp ammo uses a .311" bullet.
"...Which one goes on..." Try 'em. The one that is 'bent' goes on the 14.

Have had a couple Mini 14's [standard & ranch model] and a Mini 30. Don't own any now. Be surprized if you get a real shooter but not disappointed if you get 3 - 4" at 100 yards. Nature of the beast. Fun plinkers but a $150 SKS will probably shoot right along with it... [no, I don't own one of those either]..............
