Ruger Mini-14 accuracy

I got a .045 bushing and the brass is still hard to find.

I don't have any problem with my scope set up, it's about perfect for standing/kneeling, but prone I could use a cheek riser.

In order to get your accuracy down is pretty simple if you are good with polishing things. I was constant MOA with iron sights with a 583 series. Here is what I did all by my lonesome to achieve it:
1. replace the .100 gas block bushing to a .050;
2. 1911 bushing front and back of the op rod;
3. Polished the trigger parts;
4. Thinned the front blade sight from 085 to .050; and
5. added a Ultimak scope rail to the top.
There is a video made by gundoc where he shows how to do a trgger job as well, PM me and I will send you the link, its not hard to do.
Many will say you will need a strut but since its a 58X series you will not and will only see a small improvement.
For general info, everything before the 58x series with the pencil barrel sucked, the taper barrel is where things got better.

edit, watch the weight of your bullets as well.

PM inbound.

I also just picked up my first Mini 14 (from a great CGN member on the EE). It's the ranch rifle with wood stock and blued. Mounted a Vortex Diamondback 4-12 scope. Its been great fun to shoot at 100. is it as accurate as my AR, no but at least it's Non-restricted.

I love my Mini 30 its a great shooter its a newer model with a thicker barrel stainless steel have only shot it out to like 50 yards/meters accuracy was good I was just plinking with surplus and not really trying to pattern any groups. Super reliable No issues, everyone that tried it NEWBS, loved it. I have a NEW mini14 target with the laminated stock and barrel weight, I have not shot it yet will soon. Back in the day 1990's I had a mini14 Factory Folder I carried in South Africa and Accuracy was good I thought, I could hit anything I was aiming at. And Cue the Haters...LOL
