Glad I got mine! My M1 was gettin' lonely, being the sole 'slam dunk' gas operated rifle in the rack. Even has an acceptable trigger as is, but I'm used to the Garand trigger.
Now I'm having fun tricking it out with an Accu-Strut SOCOM barrel stabilizer and a Choate flash hider, both in the mail. The former gives a Mini 14 an M14 appearance, and is said to improve accuracy by lessening the barrel whip on the thin barrels of early rifles. We'll see, but it's worth it just for the look.
You can google the rate of twist of the various vintages of mini 14's. Mine is a 187-###X series with a 1x9" ROT, ideal for 55 gr bullets, same as my wife's S&W MP AR 15.
