Is any one know where I can get Ruger Mini-14 .223 in Toronto and areas?
Looking for a new one, don't want to go for mail order or used from EE forum (for now). Is some one seen them for sale?

Thank you.

Shooter's Choice in Waterloo carries Rugers. If they don't have one they can order it. Just be advised that the standard Mini-14 isn't terribly accurate. And cheap they ain't either. Epp's wants $819 for a standard blued 'Ranch' model. That's nearly a grand with taxes. $897 for SS. Over a grand with taxes. Far too much for mediocre accuracy. They want $1082($1244.30 with taxes) for the new 'Target' model. Reports indicate they shoot though.

Mini-14 isn't terribly accurate? I heard that is a good little gun, a read a few reviews on it, I never used it myself... What would be a more accurate semi-auto with a better price?

A question for pros, can 5.56 mm NATO cartridge is safely used in Mini-14?

SIR does mail order and has the target model on their website for around $800. Someone said they are getting them in February. Going to be hard to find a more accurate unrestricted semiauto 223 in that price range.

"...heard that is a good little gun..." The standard 'Ranch' model is reliable and fun to shoot, but gives poor accuracy for the large dollars required to buy one. Three to four inch groups at 100 yards with good ammo is normal.
If you want an accurate semi-auto .223, spend the extra money for the 'Target' model. Like Grizzlypeg says, the key is 'unrestricted'. The Mini-14 is pretty much the only non-restricted semi-auto .223.

Good price on Mini-14 Target, but I want small, reliable, firearm with iron sights, that can be used as truck-gun or home defense if need it, no sights and scope on it it’s not what I’m looking for, at least for now.

How about the armalite AR-180B2? Comes equipped with iron sights, and costs around $1000. Its semiauto and unrestricted. Check out Wolverine Sales.
