Ruger Mini 30

the real hunter would choose the 30-30 and a or an ___________________________ would choose the s/a;)
I'll let someone else fill in the blanks.

Sorry to hear about your hen pecked wounds! Walmart Pharmacy can take care of that for you right smartly:p

.30-30 lever is an excellent rifle. And I am a "city slicker" ...

Wanted to update you all that I ended up picking up a Marlin 1894 (.44 Rem Mag) and added a "el cheeeepppo" scope to it since it is a 50 to 75 yard gun for me. This ends up filling in more roles for me than a semi auto 30 cal rifle. I was going to do a .30-30 at first (lever) then felt my .308 did .30-30 and more, and .44 Rem Mag was just too much fun to be ignored. The scope is a Bushnell Trophy XLT Scope 1.75-4x32mm w/ Circle-X reticle. I will probably only use it at 2x magnification. I am going to experiment with various loads. I think this will be my entry gun into reloading too.

Thank you all for the feedback.

Good plan. .44 Mag factory ammo is expensive. Reloading gives so many options. I'm just getting started to load for this caliber. Handgun only so far.
