Ruger MK 3

I'm buying a new 22 pistol soon and have liked what I've seen in the new Rugers. I haven't test fired any yet, but was leaning towards the new 22/45 Mk 3. I like how the grip is meant to be pretty close in size to a 1911. Seems like it'd be good for training.

Anyone have any opinions on Ruger pistols in general? Good or bad? Just want to know of any anomolies if there are any. Thanks!

<August 2005>I took my 22/45 MKIII out to the range today. (for my lunch break! )

I only had time to put about 150 rounds through it. Not one FTF or FTE, quite happy about that. One thing I was concerned about was the fixed sights. Quite happy once again, it seems to be hitting POI at 15-20 yards, windage is correct.:thumbsup Today I was more focused on function (ie shooting things :b ) I did put a few rounds on target though:

Yes. The 4.5" slab side comes with fixed sights. The adjustable sight models 5.5"+ come with adjustable sights, drilled & tapped with weaver style base.

Emailed Wholesale Sports on getting one of these for there listed price of $309 http://www.wholesalesports.com/shoot/rugerhg.htm and there answer was "Yes I think we have one in stock, just not here and we don't know when it will be here.....but we can get it for you!"

Keeping my eyes open for one too show up though....just not holding my breath
