Ruger mk III field strip

Taking it apart is easy, putting it back together can be a bit tough.
Once you get the barrel/reciever back on the lower and put the bolt back in, put in the magazine and squeeze the trigger to get the hammer forward, use gravity and point the barrel at the ground. The hammer MUST BE FORWARD to put the rear bit on.

The process is really not that bad. The devil's in the details. Every Ruger MKII/III stripping video I've seen uses a gun where the bolt stop pin comes out easily. I've done mine, and.. not so much. Getting it out is ok, because it protrudes out the top, and is easily accessed for tapping. Tapping it back IN is another story. Very hard to be able to tap on anything, as the grip is often in the way. I had it apart once, luckily managed to get it back together, and I may not ever touch it again haha.

Might help to have a ball peen hammer like that with soft ends on it. My hammers are all made of steel, and I didn't want to use them for fear of marring the beautiful stainless:redface:.
