Hi I'm about to do some testing with my Ruger on a Ransom Rest... looking for the best ammo for this gun.

I have been searching the internet and this forum for other .22 handgun ballistics and ammo info/testing but, haven't been able to find much since most .22 info is geared towards rifles.

Any help as to what I should be doing with the rest or other's experience and results would be very much appreciated.

A rest takes, you, out of the equation. Buy a box of as many brands as you can to find the ammo your pistol both shoots well and cycles the action. The price of said ammo means nothing.
Best to start with 'target' velocity ammo. 'Standard' velocity is the same thing. Then just shoot 5 rounds of each brand until you find the most accurate ammo that also cycles the action reliably. .22 matches are usually shot at 20 or 25 yards, so test at those distances.

Actually our gun club bought it for our member's to use. We got it from Brownell's for around $350 plus $54 for each set of grips.
