ruger mk1 problem

hi, i have an issue with my ruger mk1 i need some help with from someone who knows. i took it apart to clean it for the first time, as i just got it, but when i put it back together, i cant get the bolt to come all way way back. either i broke something, or im doing something wrong. no doubt someone has had this problem and knows the solution. help please. im assuming the problem has something to do with the hammer position when i put the barrel back on.

there is a small spur on the rear of the hamer that must engae the spring/plunger ass when you reinstal the take down pin if this is out of postion when being put back that is what happens. if you have no spring engaement. remove the back strap and take down push the pin back up in to its hole in the upper frame tip the gun back (barrel up)then push theback strap in it should have some spring to the strap if not you have missed it. remove the back strap and start over.

There are some good videos of strip and assemble on utube. I know I read the book and still had to fiddle. It's easier when you can see it done.
