Ruger MKII Firing Pin Retaining Pin (Ahhh!)

Hey CGN,

I installed some brand new Volquartsen parts on my Ruger MKII on the weekend. After reassembling, I noticed that my firing pin retaining pin walked itself off the bench . It hid itself pretty well, so locating it is next to impossible .

Any idea on where to find a replacement, or know of the dimensions so I can craft one?

The part specifically is called the "MARK I-II-III™ FIRING PIN STOP - Item Number: 61079" on shopruger.com

Don't buy one - easy to make from 1/8" stock or a broken drill bit.

Mine is from a Mk3 and is 0.125" dia x 0.728" long.

Great advice from Mike! You can also order from brownells. If you decide to order, also pick up the spring and paddle that holds one end of the spring. If you have spare parts—-you’ll never need them! ��
