That may be cuz Ruger is only pumping out the Mkiii's as best I know.
Price variation is huge depending on the model.

I am looking at a 5 1/2" stainless bull barrel model.

Is there a reason you're avoiding the mkiii?

I know accessories like grips are more 'limited' than for the mkii which has been around 'forever', but there's no doubt that'll change with time.

The mag disconnect may be problematic, dunno if they run it like those terrible hi-power setups or less intrusive, do you know? It would be a shame to comprimise an already sketchy trigger on an otherwise great design.

I don't even agree with Rugers wording "** A magazine disconnect to prevent accidental discharge when the magazine has been removed."

They've never been much for brains when it comes to 'accident' prevention anyways. Unload means unload and open and check... sad.

I was planning on buying a nib MKII. I bought it anyways as I didn't think I could go wrong at $325.
