Got a matching set, SASS edition stainless steel, both shoot 5 inches low and 5 inches to the left. I know the sights are extra tall on single actions and can be filed down once a favorite cartridge is found, but the wind age is a pita. From reading on different forums the barrell needs to be turned in a hair more, common issue.

Well. I made a little barrel vise and cranked the revolver in, and heaved, hammered but no go. I give up, off to the gunsmith, as soon as I find a good one near London. Kinda sad that a 1400 dollar set of handguns need a trip to a gunsmith before being usable. So, i will get some good ammo, shoot them in and take the target and guns and off to get them fixed. Good gunsmiths near London?

I had major issues with my own SAA style revolvers based on my chosen grip. Seems I was trying to choke the neck of the grips up as close to the hammer and possible. Like because that's what we do with semi autos. Turned out that lowering my grip so that my pinky was actually hanging UNDER the butt of the grips was the way to go. This corrected both my basic hold to a more neutral "inline with the forearm" sort of position as well as modifying my reach to the trigger. The result was that it shot straight on other than elevation where before I was shooting to the left just like you are finding.

My vaquaro was the same, took it to shooters choice in Waterloo and the gunsmith turned the barrel. Tried it in there range and we turned as needed. Ended up dead on both vertically and horizontally. Didn't need to file front sight. It is now one of my most accurate revolvers. Hard watching them turn the barrel, I to was pissed when I bought it but it is now a favorite.
