I had a matte #1 in 450 ackley magnum for awhile, I liked the finish but if it was mine I would probably go gloss like hoytcanon suggested. However I do all my own prep work when sending out items to be blued - since you’re having the gunsmith prep it my guess would be that the matte finish would cost a fair amount less than gloss.
 
I was supposed to drop it off this morning and decided to prep it my self, I prepped a marlin 1894 in 44-40 a few years ago that someone had tried to jewel!!!!! and it turned out pretty good so I'll try and save a few bucks and do it my self.

I just (nearly) completed a 218 Bee project (Remington Rolling Block with Hi-Lux reproduction Malcolm scope)


Which has me thinking of another project (seeing that I have a .223 take off barrel laying around).

A 219 Zipper sounds like the eclectic cartridge I ought to have to accompany my 218 Bee
