Ruger no.1 .270 win?

I like your answer better, though apparently if I buy one I will no longer be taking hail mary shots as I usually do, and begin to kill any game with one single bullet if I purchase a #1, so i can see the attraction to them. Haha...

I didnt know it was a strong action though, good to know. But any way, there seems to be a lot of positive feedback about them so Im sure they work well.

I sent that sale your way... I happened to see on another forum that he was looking to sell... so I sent him a link to this thread... and you didn't take it?

It would be difficult for me to come up With the funds right now, it's unfortunate as I would really like to take it. He said he's going to email me some pictures anyways to get me to bite haha.

Edit: when starting this thread I didn't know they made it in .270, and I only saw rugers description saying that each model would be a different caliber every year. I know they are pricier, so I wanted to get info before saving up for one then looking. It seems that everyone who has handled them, loves them.

To the OP, Ruger does (did) not make a varmint (1-V) in .270 as far as I know.

The .270 has been chambered in the 1-B (26" medium contour barrel, quarter rib, no sights), the 1-A (22" barrel, quarter rib, sights, Alex Henry forstock), the 1-AB (same as 1-A except no sights [most, apparently some exceptions], beavertail forestock, some might have a 24" barrel), the 1-RSI (20" barrel, sights, full length forstock).

The 1-V (26" heavy barrel, no sights, scope blocks instead of quarter rib) has been made in 7 mag and 300 mag, and possibly .280, but apparently not .270.

There have been Stainless Laminate versions of most of the above, except for the RSI and AB (can always be wrong when discussing Rugers).
