just curious who here has one/has used one and what is your opinion? kind of thinking i might like to get one.

I have one and really like it. The Ruger No.1 is well-suited for flanged cartridges. Good selection of bullets available in 9.3mm. My hunting load is the 286gr Nosler Partition bullet at about 2400 fps at moderate pressure using Re17. There are 285gr PRVI bullets at about 65 cents each. Groups around 1.5 MOA.

that really looks like a nice rifle there,

That one is a beauty for sure. I have always wanted one, but never found the right one. I am looking for a number 1 at the moment and the 9.3 is on that list, but also wanted to do a custom in 300H&H with a tapered octagon barrel.

My 9.3X74R has an old Leupold M8-4X on it, and works really well out to any range I am going to be using it on big game.

Not hard at all to run all the pigs off the rail at 300 meters on the silhouette range at the club up here. Plain vanilla 286 gr bullets started out at 2400 fps are awfully hard on big game, though.

Had two No.1 9.3X74's... they were nice accurate rifles... and like all No.1's, they felt great.

I've got one....really like it. Same at all the other guys say. Shoots really well and I feel it's one of the best offerings in the med weight #1. It's sitting in the back of the dafe right now feeling neglected......if the rain would stop I should take it out for a walk...

I had wanted one for years. Now that I can no longer hunt big game I regret that I did not buy one! So my view is, if you want one and can afford one, get it now and enjoy! Resale is good if you do not like it.
