I just picked up a Ruger No1 in 45-120. Very good condition with beautiful wood, octagon barrel and peep sights. It came with dies, brass, projectiles and some loaded ammunition. What would you consider a fair price for the lot? I know it’s a loaded question being sight unseen, I am just curious what opinions are out there?
Thanks

It all depends on how bad someone wants a Ruger no 1 in 45/120.I know a Sharps replica in 45/120 can be a hard sell as the fully loaded rounds pound the snot out of you and it gets tiresome after awhile and that’s using black powder plus brass cases are expensive. That said there is always someone who has to have one and will pay a premium for it

My hornet was $1400 w/ redfield scope. (2 yrs ago). They seem to run now from 1500-2000 for a used rifle depending upon cartridge. In a hard to sell cartridge I think value is 17-19. Of course if I was looking for a 45/120 I might be of a different mind.

That sounds like a nice parcel. Unfortunately it would not be eligible for competition use afaik with serious bpcr silhouette organizations so if you're trying to sell it you've lost a large portion of perspective buyers.
That said if I saw one for under 1800 with all those extras it'd be hard not to take it home.

Octagonal barrel? Interesting.
Didn't think Ruger ever made any of those. Obviously not a factory gun.

I have a soft spot for No1s. Any pictures?
