Ruger No.1 Light Sporter

I could've sworn that there were at least a couple different threads in this Forum pertinent to the No.1 but the search engine failed to reveal any.

Much appreciate input from folks who shoot this model with irons only. Is it accurate with open sights straight out of the box (like a Tikka for example )?

I'm not anticipating precision here but something like 1.5inch @ 100 yards. The plan is to go for a .243 Win if I find the responses favourable.

They can be, some have forearm hanger issues that need some bedding to fix. My 7x57 does an 1.25" at 100 with a scope, haven't tried with irons yet. Adding a good peep sight like the NEGC one to repleace the rear sight would go a long way to getting good groups.
