Hey guys, I've admired the No. 1's for quite a while, finally bought a Varminter in 25-06 at auction.
Haven't received it yet, however the listing showed it's missing the factory bases (looks like it currently has one Weaver base installed in the rear position, nothing up front). Weaver lists the #85 and #89 bases, but can't seem to be able to verify they actually fit based on the notes.
I've got a set of Ruger bases on order (backordered, unknown ETA). Just wondering if there's any other options to get it shooting in the meantime.
I've been searching but haven't found much info. I see EGW makes a rail for the Varminter, I don't particularly want a rail, but not opposed if that's the only option?
