Well, my Ruger No. 1 (Standard, in 30-06) finally arrived last week. Lovely firearm. I have a question for No. 1 owners. Do you store it with the action open or closed?

I stored mine with action closed, firing pin dropped

I store mine horizontally, but with the same dead trigger.

I ended up getting a snap cap for mine, as I do not like to dry fire, may not be a problem but I never did.

Hold the trigger as you close the action slowly on an empty chamber.

Mine lives in long term storage muzzle up with the action closed and hammer dropped.
