What's the difference between the Ruger P-series manual safety and decocker models? The manual says that the manual safety version also decocks the pistol when you apply the safety, the only difference I could find is that the decocker verision's decocking lever springs back once you let go, unlike the manual safety version. Do I have it correct? If so, there's gotta be some other difference or does this seem odd only to me?

You've got it.

The DC (decocker) models return the decocker to it's original position. The manual safety model doesn't return back up without pushing it manually.

I prefer (and own) a decocker model. To me, the manual safety is just a pain in the ass.

With decocker model..the gun will fire (when decocked)in double action mode when the trigger is pulled..unlike a saftey which you must take off prior to firing. The decocker model..I feel is safer for holstering.
