Ruger P345 = 102.9 mm barrel...!

I guess these guns slip through the prohib net. Today I was marveling at how nice and compact my new Ruger is, and just for the heck of it I removed the barrel and measured it with my digital caliper. Wow, I was surprised to find that it was just under 103mm... nice. Maybe they will grandfather me for more 12(6) guns on a technicality... LOL!
We should all go out and buy P345's and then we could fight the good fight en-masse.

I fear you are measuring it wrong.

You'll see that if you insert a dowel/rod down the barrel while it's INSTALLED on the gun, and mark the length, you'll see it's over 106mm.

That is the official way to measure a barrel.

Trust me.

I do appreciate Ruger making that gun just long enough for the Canadian market. I like Ruger overall, they are pretty good to us Canadians in terms of what they manufacturer considering Canada's laws.

How much longer could the barrel grow if I put it back in the gun? Does the dowell rod measurement extend to the breach face?
