anyone have any exerience with the ruger p345? whatsthe good and bad on it. Tried the search function but nothing came up or it is not working thanks.

Had one(KP345D) for a few years. Absolutely loved it. Trigger was a bit rough at first but it wore in to be silky smooth. Sights were off a bit but Ruger provided alternate sight and all was well. Ended up switching to Williams Firesights anyways and it was great. Very lightweight, fit the hand very well and quite compact for a 45acp. Sold it when I went to a SIG 1911 but it was a great gun.

Still have mine. Great gun for the money. Very accurate. Unlike my Glock 21 it does need to stay oiled. Will run flawless on factory ammo. For reloads the OAL needs to be on the shorter end. I can't bring myself to sell it even though I shoot my G21 for .45 almost exclusively. I have 10 round mags that run great in it but stick out the bottom about 1.5 inches.

I used it for IDPA for a long time. It has the mag disconnect so you can't fire it dry unless you remove the mag disconnect(not legal in IDPA if you are caught! LOL)

seems to be a pretty nice guncannot decide between rugerp345 or a sa xd45, owned an xd in 9mm and absolutely loved it, but just cannot decide

I saw someone put a target up here, shot by a p345, the grouping are very very tight. good gun for the money. as for XD, we all know their guns are the best poly gun in the market. If money is not an issue, go XD.

I like the KP345... but my one complaint was that sometimes the safety could be "overridden" with enough aggressive DA pulls on the trigger.

It wasn't just mine as I did it to two other DEMO models at various shops to check if it was design or just my gun.

I found a way to always recreate the problem. #### the hammer. Safety On. Then pull back farther on hammer and depress trigger then release hammer. The hammer will drop (it shouldn't).

But as far as everything else about the gun. It's great :)
Good price for the bang. I'd get one without the safety if still possible.

Cheers~!

Not a bad gun at all, for the money - not my personal favorite, but my GF liked it (I bought it since it's the one she chose as 'her own' to shoot when we went to the range). It's got a very low round count, and I'm actually thinking of selling it.
