I'm looking at buying my first handgun. A guy at work has a Ruger P90 that he is looking to get rid of. With a set of dies, about 75 rounds, plus 100 or so brass and a half pound of powder, what would this be worth? Its in pretty decent shape, albeit a bit dirty. Apparently around 500 rounds through it. Thoughts?

IMO, if I were buying this is how I would value the items:

P90 stock (w/ 2 mags) - $400
dies- 30
75 rounds
(factory new, not reloads) - 40
100 pcs brass - 10
1/2 lb powder - 12

Total: $492

Fair package price: $450-460

If the 75 rounds are trustworthy
reloads, fair package price: $420-430

If you are not guilty stealing the gun/package: $350:D

I had one of the first Ruger 90's to come into Canada circa early 1990's. Trouble was I measured the thing against the pistol in .45ACP even then I was already well familiar with, the venerable Colt 1911. On top of it this particular Ruger P90 was a real jamm-a-matic. In short order traded it off back to the dealer for something useful and never looked back.

That said, it likely would be "okay" if you could get it cheap. It's not in the same league as a decent 1911, though.
