ruger p90

got a chance to buy one of those but don't know what is a good price to pay, what is the going price for one of those? I don't mind paying the going price but I don't want to get burned either . it's in excellent shape don't seem to have been shot much. how accurate is those/

Brand new those guns were under $600. If your looking for a Ruger in 45 auto give the P345 a try. Better mag release and P&D has them for $599 brand new.

Some guys hate the P90. I liked the P-series, and owned a KP89 and KP944. Both were reliable and accurate. Some complain about jam-o-matics, but mine were flawless. With hogue wraparounds, they were VERY comfy for me.

That being said, it's an older design that's not made anymore. MAX I would pay is $350-$400. BUT - if I had to buy a ruger right now, it'd be a P345. It gets very good reviews!

I have a P90 and a P89. I got them because they were cheap and all the rave reviews in other forums. I am glad CGN members are not fans of these aluminum framed Rugers because market perception now here in Canada, is that they are not worth much.

I'd say the P90 is about as accurate (or inaccurate, depending on your point of view) as my stock Norkie 1911, around 8 inch groups at 25 meters. I am sure those groups are more likely a reflection of my shooting than the gun itself.

P90 reliability is as good as the ammo you feed it. I have had a couple of stovepipes with medium target loads but it has been totally reliable with full load 230 grain roundnose.

I agree with Canucklehead above regarding price. 350-400 is fair market price, in very good box-stock condition with two magazines. I got mine in a trade eight months ago, and at the time, I put its fair value at $500 with adjustable LPA fiber-optic sights, 4 magazines, Hogues, Fobus holster and 150 shots down the tube.

I have a 345. It was broken right out of the box. From what I've seen on Ruger forums many others were as well. But it was fixed under warranty and has been functioning great since then. Pretty accurate too

Not bad, for the money. I had a 9mm P89. I just had to get rid of it because the safety/hammer drop was confusing me. If you learn to shoot with a 1911 style pistol, you should avoid anything with a "reverse safety".

I had one of the first P90's that came into Canada circa early 1990's or thereabouts.... My experience was a huge negative. Maybe that's because compared to the 1911, which was & still is my .45ACP performance gauge, it just plain out sucked. It was a huge jamma-matic right outta the box until I traded it back to the dealer for something useful. The P90 [just like the P89 series] are at best clubs. Those that love 'em can have 'em.
