Hi all,
Squibbed the barrel in the first mag out of the box - looking for a new or used stock replacement. I know lots go after market but was hoping to avoid a 700+ dollar barrel for a 850.00 rifle.

Thanks for any and all suggestions.

The bigger issue is ending up in cuffs while using it (was on a recent ban list)

Honestly this is best case scenario. You got some use out of it, no point in fixing it and should the buyback happen / you participate it will be useless to its new owners (ie the gubermint) not to mention you will be getting more money than its actually worth considering it is hooped!
 
I don’t get all the cop references. What would they be fishing for here? Wanting to see if anyone knows where to get a replacement barrel for a banned gun?

For what it’s worth, parts other than the receiver aren’t banned. Guy could legally order a replacement barrel from a ruger dealer, install it on his gun, then put it back in his safe and just never be able to take it out to the range.

Someone might choose to do so if he’s confident the buyback isn’t going to happen.

He also didn’t say he was shooting it recently. Could have been last year and he’s just getting around to getting it fixed now
