Ruger PC Carbine

I just received mine. Haven't had a chance to take it out yet but I had a couple of hours last night to make this prototype buttstock mag pouch. I, of course, stole the idea from the old M1 pouches. Needs a little tweaking but it does the trick!

ive had that floating around in my head last couple weeks as i want to do the exact same thing.
what did you do, pick up a butt bad that had velcro on the sides then just pick up a double pistol mag soft pouch and put some velcro on he back and stick it on?
that is where im at in my mind to make one.

I started with this ebay buttpad:

"New Portable Nylon Hunting Tactical Buttstock Cheek Rest Pad Ammo Holder Pouch". It has a removable cheek-rest, which saved me having to cut it off.

I had an old MOLLE double pistol pouch which i sewed velcro to. I also ran the MOLLE straps through the buttpad straps, kind of weaving them together. It's not perfect. I think putting a 2" velcro strap around the whole buttpad and running the MOLLE straps behind it will give it the durability I want.

There doesn't seem to be much aftermarket at this point, but that's going to change.

Honestly It's the perfect carbine (for me). I can't see changing anything (but I probably will). Maybe a larger charging handle.

I just see some people with scopes and compensators and aftermarket bags. So I was just wondering if anything was lacking in the rifle.

I am using mine a lot. I like it pretty well as it is. I put on a sling, red dot and a flashlight. I don't know what else you would realistically need. I do like the pouch though. If something like that were available I'd buy. I'd also like another charging handle.

I like the look of this bag. Problem is it's for the 16" version. Not sure if the 18.6 will fit.

As far as compensators/brakes/hiders, a 9mm rifle doesn't need one. The barrel is only threaded for jurisdictions where suppressors are legal.

Just bought one, came with a threaded barrel which is nice. Will have to test it out soon. I going to CNC a magazine well inserter for my CZ mags.

That could be a tidy cottage industry for someone. I bought 5 Glock mags for my PCC because the fifteen P226 mags I have won't fit it. I would have happily paid $100 or so for a Sig insert instead.

I finally got mine out to the range. LOVE this carbine. Light and the action is so smooth. My groups are a little high and to the left with the iron sights but that could just be my eye. Nice tight groups at 25m (I had to switch to the pistol range because some old gummer was driving me mental with his meandering Grandpa Simpson stories at the 100-250m range)

I have two PCs and both shot the same as yours. I adjusted the sights slightly and they are now bang on.

for interest sake i went out and measured my stock Ruger 10/22 takedown against my Ruger PC to see how much difference there is between the 2 front ends.
the Ruger 10/22 TD stock model (which is what the web site shows and lists) measures 18 1/2"
the Ruger PC Canadian measures in at 18 7/8"

so, 3/8 difference in length?

if you look at the listing of the bag it lists the forend pouch as being 18" long, but its wide, so you can put the forend at a bit of a angle.
so i think you'll be plenty safe to get the Canadian PC in there.

I bought this one for mine:

It just fits with one spacer in it. Using the velcro compartment organizer, you can get it quite snug in there along with the retaining straps. Would be tight with any optics on it, though. QD rings on optics would be best.

Also still has plenty of room for other gear. You could fit a jacket, a few hundred rounds of ammo, a few tools, a water bladder, and a few mags with all the pockets.

The run just over $100 on Amazon.

I looked at 2 brand new guns. Considering a purchase. The rear sights on both were indexed off centre to the left, and canted about 3 degrees from the centre line (crooked front to back). ....The barrel was locked properly to the receiver. The fit of the forestock was proud on one side of the receiver, and recessed on the other. Anyone else notice this?
