Red or blue loctite?

Their transition threw me for a lop and a bit of panic when I saw that it was "out for delivery" in the wrong country. Gave Brownells a call and they explained that that's just how their shipping works.

I do believe it to be a 8-40. My front sight nearly fell off after finishing up 1000 rounds and I ended up losing the rear screw, didn't realize it had happened until I got home. I ended up using a left over scope base screw for a marlin 336/1895, just had to shorten it a bit. Hit them both with some blue loctite and haven't had any issues yet with another 250 rounds through it.

I found a scope ring screw that worked as well. It mic's out at 0.133" so it looks like a 6-40. 6-32 is too coarse.
 
Put a few rounds through mine...read about your problem, came home and found lots of things loose...Blue Loctite is your friend.
It's great that the rifle has a reversible charging handle to support ambidextrous...but the threaded hole in the left side really sucks!
Kinda like something is missing. They could have supplied a extra screw to fill the void...

I'm currently running a Holosun 503GU. I have an astigmatism in my left eye so typically both eyes open can be a little challenging and getting a dot that doesn't look like a " * " or " , " can be a little hard. The 4moa and 6moa dots are out of the question for me and the 2moa is useable, but the "circle dot" Eotech style reticle works great for my eyes surprisingly. Deffinetly try and check out the holosun one or the eotech one in person as they are nearly identical, you might have the same luck I did. If not I'd be more inclined to go with a LPVO with a low end under 2x for fast quick shots. On a budget, the Leupold VX Freedom 1.5-4x20 would be a good option as its light and has clear glass with generous eye relief, or if you want to get a bit fancier you could grab a fire dot illuminated model or a Trijicon TR24 which would be my pick of those three.
 
Finally ran some loads through a chronograph. started with Winchester 115 g white box, at 1360 fps average. Winchester 115 jhp were 1380fps. My handloads were 115 Hornady jhp with 6g of longshot 1450fps average, 115 Hornady fmj with 5.6 of cfe pistol 1450 fps average, 147g Winchester jhp 4.7g of longshot 1180fps average, 147g win jhp 4.2 g of win wsf was 1060fps average. Didn't measure groups but all were reasonably accurate for the rifles intended purpose. Comparing the published velocity of the factory ammo I seem to be getting about 200fps velocity boost with the carbine over a pistol. I was expecting a bit more, but still a decent boost.
 
Good results, thanks for posting! From what I hear, using the slower burning powders will maximize FPS from these longer barrels. I personally got 1120fps from 147gr Remington Golden Saber HPs (advertised at 980fps from a pistol). Shot quite accurate, but it seems like just about everything does, from 115gr S&Bs shooting hot, to American Eagle 124gr, and Hornady Critical Duty 135gr +Ps. The Golden Sabers were quite a bit less noisy, shooting just under sonic velocities.
