Ruger PC replacement Barrel???

Well ####...
Guess I had a squib and didn't notice. Felt ok, but an obvious miss. Next one, still not hitting steel. Mmm... one more... felt sparks on my face.
Examine the rifle for good measure.... oh yeah... barrel is bulged right out and fractured in the middle.
Thank goodness the poly handguard is stout! Feeling very lucky.
BUT...would like to know if anyone knows of an aftermarket barrel that I could get to canada?
I'll email ruger to see if there is any option and post an update.
9mm pc carbine BTW.

Stay safe!

A little late , but we make custom barrels for the PC9's. Various lengths and weights.

Wow! Maxxtech crap is still available in Canada? Few years ago, I've had the same experience when I've bought 1000 rounds of it. Not just squibs, but it was all sorts of failures what you can ever experience with bad ammo. Not just a powder charge, even the casing specs were incorrect resulted in frequent FTE.

But in my experience shooting semi-auto and having squibs - the squib was never able to cycle the slide/bolt unless you do it yourself. And that's where the bad thing can happen.

Yeah, I've only ever witnessed squibs in handguns, and even they can get missed in the heat of the moment (say, in the middle of a competition).

I'm running a VG6 Precision Epsilon brake on my Ruger PC, and it has very minimal recoil - makes me wonder if I'd catch a squib in time.

Also running the VG6 epsilon on my PC and its a fantastic muzzle device even on a 9mm it makes a difference. I got a recall letter from bass pro a year ago or so about some 9mm winchester white box that I bought that could have squib issues. Needless to say that ammo will only be ran through my handgun for this very reason as the OP unfortunately found out.

Update... sent the whole thing into the Gravel agency in QC,
I asked them just to source a new barrel and send it, but oooh noo... they had to evaluate it. Duh... obviously not a warranty issue. Eventually they get around to looking at it and yes, it needs a barrel. Right. The barrel is just under 300 and then they want 1.5 hours to clean and "headspace the the barrel" wtf... I told them that wasn't necessary...
Agreed to a total around 400. Which is fine, but still don't have it back yet... should have bought the barrel someone else offered, but you live and learn... the wheel turns slowly sometimes, but should get it back in action eventually.

Gravel Agency are freaking horrible to deal with. I ordered dozens of rifle stocks from Snapshots with zero.problems. Gravel said that I had to send the rifle to them to have the stock fitted to the action... I said that is ridiculous, it is a drop in fit and does not require gunsmithing... they refused to order the part.
