I am thinking of shifting the magazine rearward. The relocation of the adapter relative to the original belt clip may result in some instability. However, I can use the sling swivel to my advantage. Thoughts?

Revision X3 refined X2 for proper fit between magazine and adapter rails to get rid of slight wiggle when the two were mated.
Ended up changing location of Picitinny rail cross hole location to give myself some wiggle room between adapter and end of rail on rifle.
Here is difference between X1 and X2 - geometry changed.
End View of adapters show the newer revision looks like belt clip that originally came with magazine holder.

Fitted to rifle - Can see the relative position of magazine and "Happy Cyclopes" Tactical Magazine Release.
Magazine clears front sling mounting post so you can keep it installed and just remove magazine if sling needed.

Took the first version home and discovered length of adapter is too long for PC9 forend. Pulled out calipers and took some additional measurements.
Version X2 will shorten adapter. Removing arched cutout and will have single mounting screw instead of current two.
New version is being printed out over night and should be ready first thing tomorrow morning.

So,
After one of my beta tester showed me a different way to actuate my "Happy Cyclopes" tactical magazine release I decided to see if I could take advantage of the situation.
His method is to sweep his support hand straight back and actuate the release with the palm of his hand (side).
Seeing the carbine has a picitinny rail on the end of the forearm, I figured why not attach a single magazine holder to this rail so that the user could grab the magazine before moving backwards to dump the empty magazine and then continue to insert new magazine.
Rummaging around my parts bin I found a Blackhawk Double Stack Single Magazine Holder (C1203) that consisted of a body and a detachable belt clip.
Removing a couple of small screws allowed me to remove the belt clip.
Then went and downloaded an existing model of a picitinny riser and modified it to match the slots in the magazine holder.

Picture #2 shows magazine with adapter inserted into magazine slots.
Picture #3 shows orientation of magazine holder as it will slide onto forend rail.
Picture #4 shows Tactical Magazine Release on Carbine in case you are wondering what a "Happy Cyclopes" is.
Got to test it on gun when I get home tonight.
