Yeah , it is kind of tricky to find the sweet spot where it turns.
When I did mine , I ended up using a pair of needle nose pliers , gently to turn it.

I genuinely think there was a problem with mine. I spent hours trying to get it with no luck. I even brought it to two different store (sponsors of this site) and they gave up. One of the gunsmiths had done that exact install before too.
It's too bad. As a lefty, the gun was useless to me without that safety. I can't deal with cross bolt safeties that are right hand only.
