Hi everyone,

Has anybody tried to remove or relocate the sling studs on the standard stock version of their Ruger PCC? I’m not interested in replacing my stock at the moment but would like to have my sling mounted in a more modern fashion than the traditional location the factory stock offers. I can probably just break out the drill and epoxy and install new studs but wondered if anyone else had any advice or experience to share from their own attempts. I am hoping to mount them on the strong side of the butt stock and support side of the fore arm myself, but haven’t taken anything apart yet to inspect the prospect of that goal. Any comments are welcome.

Thanks for looking!

(Oh, and PS on and unrelated topic in case anyone was wondering, the Magpul bipod picatinny version works great with the standard factory stock.)

Thanks. I know that GrovTech makes some pretty adaptive products and that there are creative solutions out there, I just thought I’d start at the bottom and see if I can relocate my existing studs. As I mentioned, I haven’t even had a look to see what the inside of the factory stock looks like and how much “meat” there is to screw/drill into. I haven’t even taken the gun out of the safe to have a look at its exterior lol, this has just been a thought experiment so far. Still interested to know what others might have come across though before I put my bubba cap on.

I’ve thought of that thanks but I prefer to use it without any spacers to keep the LOP and OAL to a minimum, (I have a 20” toolbox I use for storage that it just barely fits into broken down).
