Just purchased a RPR in 6.5 CM and am having all sorts of mag issues. One mag will not feed reliably, the first round might load then the for the rest the bolt slides over the cartridge and gouges my brass. The next mags has the same issue but when it does grab a round and feed upon ejection it gets half way through the cycle and hangs up.....Is it just these crappy accurate mags?
Other then the mags im very happy with the performance of this gun and the local dealer Prairie Gun Traders has stated it will resolve this issue.

Cheers!!

ya... its the mags.
I have the same problem with the steel ruger mags on mine. Found that interesting tid bit during a rifle match... nice huh. Lucky I had some AI mags too.

You will not have that problem with steel AI or Cadex mags, but the plastic mags are extra smooth.

I was never a fan of plastic, because its... well.... plastic... but I have to say that these days I'm a believer. They are really nice. Although I don't think they will last as long as steel.

I needed to sand the lips as they had insanely sharp edges. Pmags seem to work quite well in my RPR. The mags need a tad of work to feed. Also needed to polish the bolt so it doesn't gouge the brass and catch when you pull back on the bolt. But little tweaks and it'll work flawlessly

Same with mine, I took a flat file to the inside of the lips which smooths it out, brass doesn't get scratched or hung up. But like everyone else suggest- get different magazines- research for max bullet length.

I gave up on the RPR mags that came with the rifle shortly after buying it... I run Pmags or my M305 mags now and both work well for me... Haven't tried the AIA 10rnd mags yet but they are on my "things to do" list for the first warm days of spring.

Took them back to Prairie Guntraders and it seems that the mags work fine with a .308 but the 6.5 CM's shoulder gets hung up and causes issues. Got a Pmag and it works great!!
