Ruger Precision Rifle Coming Soon!

What recourse would you have with Ruger if the magazine(s) you self supplied for their rifle did not work properly with the rifle?

As I understand it, one of the unique features of the rifle is the ability to take many types of 308/7.62 mags. So at a minimum you could use M1A/M14 mags, AR10 mags, AI, etc. Unfortunately these would be limited to 5 rounds rather than the 10 rounds of the mag supplied but at least they available and most are relatively cheap.

^agreed. My next rifle is going to be a .243 Win, so i'm anxiously awaiting a report on this gun in that caliber. I had a Tikka picked-out then this beauty came along. lol At this point, based on my limited Ruger experience..I have a hard time imagining this gun will out-shoot a Tikka Varmint..so I'll be needing some convincing.

I am going to give Ruger a chance and have ordered the this in 243. I waited too long for a Tikka Varmint to even show up in this country in 243 so why not take a chance and hope for the best. At least I will be shooting my Ruger in late 2015 instead of 2017 when any Tikkas might arrive.

I think the cdn Ruger Precision Rifle's come with 1 10 round AI type mag. Stateside the PR ships with 2 pmags. Here, because pmags are made for semi-auto's, they have to be capped at 5 rounds. So, the PR ships in Canada with 1 10 round AI type mag, because they are made for a bolt action.

And why shouldn't they ship with 2 Scout magazines? 2/10's are 2/10's... $90 for a spare mag here.

Yeah I was pretty pumped that it came with two mags that can be used for hunting. Can a 10 round mag made for a bolt action be used for hunting?

In Alberta for big game hunting we are limited to 5 rounds.
