Ruger Precision Rimfire~how is your rifle shooting?

A rifle with the word “precision” in the name that everyone immediately puts an after market barrel on. So Ruger.

Ruger seems to be able to produce great looking, well-built, original/appealing designs...that just shoot OK. For $600, I would like to think that the RPR should be a slightly refined RAR. Just wears more interesting clothing I guess. Bummer. When you're up flirting with $1,000 for a fixer-upper Ruger rifle, it seems like people just making better rifles deserve the business.

I think the most frustrating thing for RPRf owners is the randomness. At least one guy from RFC had to send his in to Ruger twice to remedy some issues and the third time worked out well for him apparently. Some of the rifles are real shooters and guys are getting some good results with them. Others shoot just 'OK'. There are definitely some gremlins to be worked out for follow on generations though. I am not willing to give up yet and I am hopeful that a Canadian barrel manufacturer will be turning out something for it in the future.

-Saryet, out!-

Amazing, thanks for that! '

Its what I expected to see. The eley force started to show some good paper groups!

I think it would be worth it if someone started crankin out precision barrels for them.

Shaw, is making barrels and lilja is making drop in match barrels for them. I'm placing an order for the lilja match grade barrel for mine.

100m prone bipod and rear bag with Cronus BTR @ 29x, RPr 22lr out of Ruger 10 round rotary mag. 10 round groups.

Winchester Xpert 22 HP lead 36gr (old grey box) 4" group with one flyer way outside of that.

Winchester M22 round chose black copper plates 40gr 1255fps 5" group with one flyer way outside of that.

Eley Club 2-2.5".

I’ve owned many Ruger’s and love them all but I must say they have never made a very accurate barrel or made any decent triggers for me. I always find myself modifying them in ways to be better.
Problem with this is you should have just spent the extra money on something better. Nevertheless I still like my Ruger’s but yes they need modifications to be great

What on the market is better? (chassis/pistolgrip/metal fore-end)

I handled one, bolt is horrendous but trigger feels nice. T1X feels like it should be double the money of the ruger based bolt feel alone. I too am looking at these with cautious optimism.
