Ruger Precision vs CZ MTD

Yep, I got a couple 10-rnd plastic for $35-ea but shipping bumped that to $50 each tx in. I don't need 25s for a bolt action - but I got a couple for my B22 Savage ^O^
But I got a 'deal' on SK+ = $8.50/bx from a Vudoo owner - his didn't like 'em.
 
BTW - I got my 455 down to 25-oz T-pull by turning the adj nut ALL the way down, and next time it's open I'm taking the nut off. Prob get another few oz off. I don't need/want under 1# but close is good. Surprises fellows at the range when they pull the trigger !! Many didn't know a T goes that low w-o lots of bucks for a Timney or such.
And for targets I'm using a Covenant-4 6-24x50-30mm. It has MOA 'tree' with numbers every 4th bar - it helps quick hold adjustments.
And 6x is good for closer shots like hunting, if that's what you do.
 
Good choice on the 457. I bought the Ruger RPR for my son so that it's adjustable for him, my daughter, and I (if I feel like it) in seconds. The accuracy can be decent with certain ammo (CCI mini mags appear to be best in mine). But I haven't been able to shoot a 5 shot group at 100 yards under an inch.

My CZ's (452, 455, 457, 512), on the other hand, are clearly more accurate. I haven't shot all of them at 100 yards yet but the 455 and 457 are capable of shooting under an inch at 100 yards with reasonably priced ammo (under $10 a box). Pretty much everything is better than the Ruger other than adjustability.

I would have dumped the Ruger if it weren't for my kids being 6 and 9.
 
Both are good rifles but a $ spread for sure. I have both the RPR and CZ457 VPR and belong to a PRS group at the local club. We shoot out to 350 meters, both guns are capable but both rifles have good great glass with MIL adjustment and Strelok app for determining what you turn up on the scope needs to be for a given range. I may sell the Ruger but haven’t finished running both rifles against each other. The Ruger has a Bushnell Elite DMR3 scope while the 457 has a Vortex Venom. Likely I’ll put the $2200 Bushnell on the 457 and then put the Venom on the Ruger and sell the Ruger, I think.
