Hi Guys,

Looking at buying a Ruger Predator American Riffle in .223 for coyotes. Anybody have one of these riffles? What types of groups are you getting at 100 yards?

I know there has been some people complaint about accuracy, but there also is many people who say there very accurate, I'd be happy at 1 MOA.

I don't have a Predator in 223 but I do have one in 6.5 Creedmoor. That can easily get half inch at 100.
But I do have the American Ranch in 5.56/223. Shorter barrel on that and weighs less, if those points interested you. I get inch groupings at 100 with that.

How are the stocks on the Ranch? Is there much flex to them? One review I read, the reviewer had a stock that was slightly warped ie one side was closer/barely touching the barrel. He ended up sanding it down.

I've been tempted to pickup a Ranch in 223 for general plinking. Doesn't hurt Timney makes triggers for the American series.

It's basically the same stock as all the American series rifles, just a different colour.
Mine came out of box in perfect shape, no warpage at all. All 3 of my Ruger Americans came without any warpage. I'm guessing like any kind of mass manufacturing there will be a couple of lemons that make it into the hands of the consumer. If you have the chance to check it in store you can make sure of what you get.
I usually baby my rifles. Regular cleaning, don't overheat the barrels, use high quality ammo/reloads. But I abuse my Ranch. And no heat warpage or physical damage to cause warping to report. After many miles and many, many rounds.
It eats heavy grain bullets beautifully with good accuracy as well.

I'll second this!! My brother and I both bought the ranch, and both have been great. My accuracy with cheap barnaul has hovered around 1". Never bothered to put expensive stuff through it. Triggers are decent as is also. Handy as they come!

It handles 55gr just fine. I've shot some 73gr and 75gr loads out of it and still getting around an inch for grouping. It may shoot better then me as well, I'm a good shot but no sniper.

I have a friend that shoots the Ruger American Predator. By all accounts excellent rifle. 5 shots just touching @ 100yrds with 55gr
V-max, 25.9 gr Varget.
Don't know much about the ranch hasn't been out a long time, just that it is small and compact rifle. The Ruger American series rifle seems to be a decent platform but have heard of some issues with mags not feeding or fitting correctly but Ruger seems to ba aware of it.
