Guess?
I have been mulling around the idea of picking up another Ruger Ranch, this time in 7.62x39, but I will only do so if I can use AR mags. I have read that Ruger and Gravel(?), won't sell you the magwell adapter anymore, so I figured I would try and print a magwell adapter. Now this fits the Gen 1 Ranch in 5.56 I have, and it is flared out more than stock, but if someone with a Ranch in 7.62x39 that would like to try and fit this magwell to their rifle, I will send it to you and they can keep it..Just let me know how it goes. It does need the AR mag catch mechanism installed.

The mag is a little tight, so it probably could use a light sanding as well.

The stocks are identical. The magwell adapter Gravel sold was one designed to fit into the 556. Mine dropped in perfectly with no adjustment on my x39. If you can make it fit into the 556 stock you should be good to go on a x39.

I think that might be a better shape than the original, nice work. It looks like it would be an upgrade for the stock 5.56 mag well as long as it is robust enough.

Would you be willing to test this? I can mail it to you and it is yours to keep. I can always print another.

Well, the printer did all the work. :)

I found the file online and downloaded. I could never sell it, but can definitely share the link to the file if anyone wants it.

Okay, so I am an impatient guy :). I was able to acquire my very own RAR in x39 recently, GEN1 like my RAR 5.56, and I am happy to report the 3D print magwell fits perfectly on the x39 rifle, and the AR x39 mags, while a little tight, insert, lock and cycle as expected! All one needs, other than a 3D printer, is the mag catch. Now, it may appear a little off kilter in the pic, but that is just how the magwell was designed.

Link to STL file.
