Ruger Ranch Rifle in 556 with AR Mag

What is the difference between these and the slightly cheaper version (that was also in 223/5.56) - just the 10 round vs 5 round mag???

These use the AR 15 magazines. The stock Ruger mags being limited to 5 rounds and less than stellar in function. The AR 15 mags feed better and function more reliably than the stock 5 round Ruger mag. Plus spare ar 15 mags are cheaper and readily available.

That was fast my American 556 AR is here.
They made a great job with the AR mag well, it's a snug fit.

Rifle is pretty small, this gonna be fun.
Thanks to Prophet and team. JP.

You wont regret this purchase.

Mine definitely prefers heavier bullets. 62 min but shines with 75's

Just wanted to give an update on my Ruger american 556 AR. I've put 140 rounds through it now. It prefers the heavier rounds. I love the AR style mag release. Magazine fitment is snug and feeding/extraction has been great. This rifle is so much fun and I'm very pleased. Thanks Prophet River!

I haven't handled the Ruger American Ranch in .223 but I can definitely say the Mossberg patrol is front heavy. It's got a medium bull barrel and a very light stock, 90% of the weight is in front of the trigger. Made it unwieldy for its supposed purpose as a patrol rifle. I'm hoping the American Ranch is a lighter profile barrel

I agree with the above statement in addition to my previous comment.

I got my American Ranch and couldn't be happier with the weight/balance. Not front heavy at all and balances like a dream.
