ruger red label

I guy I know had one who shoots trap often. In often I say once a week. With in one year the gun was trashed. He did not have this problem with browing or beretta over and unders

Swings like a shovel with a pig hanging on it. Otherwise, a well made firearm.

That's a good one :) I can't relate to that, but funny none the less.
I've got a 26" and 28" 12 ga. for field use , no problems with it , maybe a bit heavy. I like the easy opening, and comes up fine for me. I haven't shot the 28", there's a possibility that thing might swing like a shovel, it's noticeably heavier.

I've got an older "short choke tube" 26 inch barrel version as well as the newer Sporting Clays with 30 inch tubes and Briley chokes (factory)
I dont even want to venture a guess as to how many rounds you would have to run through a Red Label before it broke down.
A lot more than I could afford thats for sure.

Same here. Going by the dependability and durability of other products offered by Ruger, this one will be passed down when 'I'm through with it'.

I have both a 12 gauge and a 28 Red Label; both with 28 inch barrels. I consider them the best shotguns available for the money. I have shot thousands of shells in them (particularly the 12) both for sporting clays and game with never a problem.

I had a 26" 20 ga for about 14 years I used it for ducks, geese, informal trap shoots and a s%&t load of grouse. I would still have it but I traded it to a gunsmith after I started hunting with a 16 ga. I never had a single complaint or issue and I probably put 5000+ rounds through that gun.

I have a beautiful 28ga straight stock,28"barrel,gorgeous wood!
It is so nice I only take it partridge hunting once in a blue moon.
This is going to change this year, going to hunt it and not going to worry about the nicks and wear it will get.No use keeping it pretty for the next owner, right?
I love to have one of the Ruger SXS's
Cheers Dale Z

Buddy had one that he used for skeet. Guessing maybe 24K through it, loose as a goose.
He recently sold it and picked up a Citori.
Served him well though, was his first skeet gun.
