now hold on there- there's 2 versions of the redhowk- one with rings, one without- the one with rings was about 100 bucks more

Let's just say that I would be in the market for one, but I wouldn't spend more than about $550 as indicated above. Depending on condition, of course. There might be someone willing to spend more, though.

I think the last one I saw on the EE was listed for $650. Not sure how many bumps and if he reduced the price though. Since you've got extra gips as a package it would be worth starting at around that much or a little higher.

are there any 4.2 inch redhawks made for canada?

Don't know about made for Canada but they are made and some have even made it to Canada!

It's a big gun though I think around 5.5" would be about as short as I'd want a Redhawk....

The reason I picked $550 as a fair price is that's what I recall paying on the EE for a Redhawk Hunter a few years back with rings.

You could start around $600 and then have room to drop to $550 if needed..... I guess it depends how fast you want to sell!

I think the value of a used big bore revolver will go up as the barrel grows shorter, so a 7-3/8" gun in .44 would be somewhere between $550 & $600, IMO.

I have a 4.2" redhawk in .45 Colt and it's easy to shoot with factory loadings, in fact I was surprised at how light the recoil was. In a hot .45 load or in a factory .44 mag load I'm sure it becomes a different animal though. I look forward to finding out.

This one was made for Canada, long before Ruger offered a 4.2" version ;)
