Would there be any place in Canada you can get parts for a redhawk, I looked at one the other day the clyinder and crank are missing in 44. I know they would need to be fitted buy a gunsmith but would like to find out the price first.
Thanks
John

Snapshots in Quebec is the Canadian Ruger repair / parts depot. Their # is (450) 427-0052. I had to order a hammer link for my Redhawk and their service was top notch.

last pricing i have for a cylinder is about 60 bucks - but that's way old- i'd expect more in line with a hundred or more- however, the parts you are missing are extremely unusual to be missing, esp in a redhawk, which is no easy task to change cylinders- i would suspect that snapshots wouldn't sell you the parts, but insist on you sending the gun in so they could work on it- if memory serves, they won't sell barrels either,or frames, but will replace at their depot- your contact name at snapshots is carole petrie-snapshots@videotron.ca

Ruger doesn't sell any of the major parts separately. Stateside, they require nearly everything to be sent to their factory for installation.
Up here, you'll have to go to Snapshots for a cylinder. Current price is $100US for a blued cylinder. $110US for SS in either .44 Mag or .45 Colt.

What do you mean by 'crank'?

Sturm, Ruger stands behind it's products.

Ruger will repair, under warranty, any unmodified Ruger.

Unless it's been modified, SnapShots will probably fix it at no cost to you.

be real intresting to see how the cylinder went missing on a redhawk- and whatever a crank is=blackhawk i can see- pull the cylinder pin and you're gone

I not sure what happen to the clyinder either and what I called the crank is the lever that rotates the clyinder. I have just looked at this Redhawk and it is a mess. Not even sure it is worth trying to get parts and get it going.

chances are if you can get it cheap enough, and want a redhawk, it should probably be worth it- the part the rotates the cylinder is the pawl, and is part of the trigger module- as long as you have frame and barrel in good condition- all snapshots can do is say no- i've found them to be pretty reasonable- now the next question - is it in the "system" ie registration etc- if not lets not discuss this any further

It is in the registration system and it seems the reason it is so rough is that is was though a house fire so I am told know.
John

oh boy- i wouldn't touch that with a 10 foot pole - a house fire has indertiminate amounts of heat and the temper of the steel may have been compromised unless i got it for 50-100 bucks or so and could easily write the money off as a bad investment- and i'd be up front with snap shots and tell them it had been in a fire and pay for an inspection fee if they have one- there's just so many alarms bells going off in my head right now - guns that have been through fires can be anything from ok to having the metal crystallize and be totally worthless
