Ruger releases the new PC Carbine

I never understood why Ruger stopped producing the PC9. This looks great especially with the takedown feature. Not holding my breath for a 18.5" version but one can dream.

Yes I had a couple of PC9s
Had a restricted and a non restricted at one time. Kick myself for selling them. I think I didn’t like the Ruger mags. Now this will take Glock mags so looking forward to getting another one.

Why? Please elaborate.

The barrel has relatively complex contours. If it started as a button rifled blank, an extra three inches wouldn't be a problem. If the billet starts off purpose made for 16 1/4", a longer barrel would complicate production. A special run might not be something Ruger would be interested in.

Because of a lack of demand for them. They have tried to make the new Police Carbine more tactical looking with it's angular lines, multiple rails, and fluted heavy barrel, but many other manufacturers already do the tactical thing better.

Hmmm... With an 18.6" BBL, I might make an exception to my over "f#$k Ruger, burn in h3ll you rot @ss, bunch of inbred Jed, go bankrupt and die in a fire" stance on the company as a whole.

Was thinking that as well ,had a quick look at the owners manual and the bolt head is replaceable , got me to thinking other calibers , wonder if you'll need to replace the dead weight in the bolt.

I only specifically asked about 44 mag as they already made them in the past based off the same platform

The only 44 magnums I've ever seen are the tube or rotary mag fed carbines.. Defenitly not the same platform.
I could see them maybe doing a 10mm in this new carbine but can't really see a .44mag version.

What did they say when you asked for a 44 mag version?

Price point with nr barrel should be cheaper than a CX Storm,a bit more than a Sub 2k.
Likely see a NR version later next year I am guessing.

would rather it had no sights, just the scope rail

You can probably remove them.
I completely disagree.

Time will tell I guess. I understand that could be complicated with chf barrels. They might do button rifled for us. Or there will be aftermarket barrels.
Give me a 18.6" barrel non-takedown wood stock version.

Dunno about the non takedown part but I would be shocked if boyds doesn't already working on wood stocks for this.
