Well, Ruger must have people’s confidence in that everyone is already comparing it to the cx4 storm and yet no one has shot it yet lol.
I’m no expert, but gleaning from this site, the CX4 Storm seems to be the most reliable pistol caliber carbine for sale in canada .... I hope the Ruger does in fact offer competition in that regard. The old Ruger police carbines were considered very reliable ... we'll have to see if the new design changes effect reliability with the take down aspect and perhaps cheapening of parts to keep the price low. The 10/22 takedown is immensely popular and if they keep this price low, I can see a huge fan base and aftermarket bloom to upgrade it. I’m a little worried about the magazine adapters; I hope they’re durable enough and not finicky. I think these are going to be a huge success for Ruger; takedowns are immensely popular ... I know guys can take it or leave it with takedowns, but there are enough people that like something handy for their boat, plane, truck, or like a discreet carry case because they live in a city of nosey city slickers or whatever.
If the barrel stays at a restricted length, the takedown aspect will not be of much use. Maybe Dlask or someone can make a longer barrel? If a non-restricted barrel comes in, it will be a rather long pistol caliber carbine (although the gun has spacers, so when Ruger lists the length, does that include all the spacers installed?). It approaches a full rifle size and weight ... almost the same as the mini 14.
But these could be fun 10 rounders to shoot and if it comes in at a good price and with good quality, Ruger will clean up.
