On Rugers web site clicking on "product service" then under the subheading "International Customers" it brings up a list of service locations...I emailed the one here in Edmonton on Dec 2nd and have yet to get a response back.
I guess I have to phone the Ruger head office in NH.

The Canadian repair guy John Paul something is donut head. Took him almost nine months to repair my MK11 and I got a run around every time I called him.

My only complaint about any Ruger product is this service guy. Give Ruger a call directly. They have great customer service and will go out of their way to help you.

he may have died

If you were trying to contact SimPaul Smiths I am of the understanding he passed away :(

Earlier this week I had to order a part for a Redhawk revolver and called Ruger for the part. They told me I had to order from their Canadian repair depot. The telephone # is (450) 427-0052. I can't remember the name of the place... Snapshots maybe, but they seemed helpful.

your contact for ruger in canada is carole petrie at snapshots@videotron.ca- i've found she is quite quick at getting back re parts- be prepared that their retail is somewhat higher than rugers list and they'll really ding you on shipping- by the time i was finished, a rear sight blade -4 bucks - was 12 all up

Its actually about 35 min. off the island of Montreal in Ste. Martine I believe it is. As mentioned before, contact Carole Pitre <snapshots@videotron.ca>. The gunsmiths name is Paul. (450) 427-0052 I spoke with the local gunshop here, and she told me he was a good guy. I have emailed them once before and Carole replied very quickly with the info I was looking for.

I emailed the depot in BC, (cause they're closer) and got an email back saying to send the gun back to whomever I bought it from. That they weren't a service outlet.
I sent a third email out tonight and yes, it was to the snapshot address y'all mention. We'll see what action they take.

Rant

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I bought a 10/22 and frankly, wish I hadn't. So far I have about $130 into parts and I still get "fail to fires"
People say "Its the ammo" or "The gun needs about 500 to 700 or even a 1000 rnds through it to wear it in"
I think thats crap. Why would you need to "wear" in an action??? My other .22 semi (Cheapo made in the Phillipines) NEVER had "Fail to fires" in muti-thousands of rounds of various ammo in 21 years even right out of the box new. The only issue was feed jams with truncated bullets.
I took my 10/22 to the range again TWICE this weekend and it still doesn't ignite all the bullets.
I'm going to search the web and see if anyone offers an upgraded firing pin.
If that doesn`t work then I'll sell the gun and send a nasty letter to Ruger telling them what I think of their "popular" 10/22
I'm thinking that all these aftermarket companies selling 10/22 upgrade parts must be laughing all the way to the bank and saying prayers that Ruger never smartens up.
This was my post on another thread about my problem. I'm trying to sort out whether or not to get a new firing pin. This issue happens with the factory mag as well as the butler creek steel lip mags i bought. I also have a volquartzen hi perf trigger kit in it, but it still fails to fire. Did it before and after the kit was installed.

Dan, If I can`t get any satisfaction from Ruger...would it be possible to weld a tiny blob onto the striker end of the firing pin and shape it with a dremel to extend the pin a few thou of an inch?

Well I heard back from Carole in Quebec...I have to ship them my rifle for warranty repairs.
They won't just send a new firing pin. How is that gonna work if they pull it apart and find a Volquartzen trigger assembly in it?
