Does anyone here own the Ruger convertable revolver that can change from .357 to 9mm and if so how does the interchange work. It sounds great in theory but I am a bit sceptacle as to its workings. What say y'all.
The 9mm rounds headspace on the mouth of the cartridge in the chambers of the 9mm cylinder, so there is no need for clips to hold the cartridges in place.
from what i've heard and read, though , the 9 mm bullet is sloppy as heck in the 357 ruger barrel and accuracy suffers greatly- the 45 acp/45 colt does not because there's no change in the bullet diameter - incidentally the 9 mikes at 355 - that means there's a 2 thou slop
One of the people I used to shoot with owned one and he couldn't get lead to shoot in the 9mm cylinder but jacketed bullets were fine. lead was good in the 357 cylinder though.
